About

The Journalism and Media Communication program from the University of Nebraska Omaha provides a student-centered, dynamic environment designed to elevate, empower, and engage students to become skilled, ethical citizens and professionals who can excel in diverse local and global communities.

Overview

Beyond the classroom, Journalism and Media Communication students at the University of Nebraska Omaha get hands-on experiences working in the field through internships; service learning projects; production of the Omaha News, a weekly news program from the studios of UNO Television; working both on-air and behind the scenes at MavRadio, our student-run radio station; broadcasts of UNO athletic events held at Baxter Arena; and working directly with professional clients in MavPR and Capstone Communications. Regardless of the path a student chooses, a degree in journalism/media communication can lead to multiple career opportunities in front of the camera, behind it, in print, and online.
