Overview
This wide-ranging discipline covers problems at many scales, from the physical design of nano-sized transistors, through complex circuit analysis, to the signals carried by communication and control systems. Application examples include cell phones, solar cells, power generation and distribution, and sensors.
The field of electrical engineering has branched out into a number of specialized categories, including power generation and transmission systems, motors, batteries and control systems. Electrical engineering also includes electronics subcategories, such as radio frequency (RF) systems, telecommunications, remote sensing, signal processing, digital circuits, instrumentation, audio, video, and optoelectronics.
The Electrical Engineering degree program from Kennesaw State University is ABET-accredited at Kennesaw State University which meets the degree requirements to take the Professional Engineering exam.
