Students in the Finance program at Texas State University will have the opportunity to obtain practical and theoretical knowledge of the various aspects of the field including financial management, information technologies, investment analysis, financial planning, and budgeting, among other vital skills.

Learning how to appropriately make investment and financing decisions is key to determining the monetary success of either the firm or the individual. Further, being able to recognize the inherent risk of these decisions and knowing how to adequately hedge against uncertainty is crucial in our highly integrated system of capital markets.

ACT and SAT test scores are not required for applicants ranked in the top 75% of their graduating class. Those applicants who do not meet assured admission, or do not submit test scores, will be reviewed holistically. All students ranked in the fourth quartile of their class must submit scores that meet assured admission standards for admission.
When reviewing your application, Texas State will consider your high school curriculum, admission essay(s), quality and competitive level of courses taken and grades earned, in addition to other factors presented in your application.
International first-time college applicants are required to graduate or have graduated from a foreign secondary school with an academic profile equivalent to that of a U.S. high school curriculum. They must meet freshman admission standards and meet the minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements.
