About the program

This Marine Affairs program at University of Miami is designed for students who wish to prepare themselves for graduate studies and careers in marine policy, political ecology, marine resource economics, management and conservation of marine resources, environmental impact analysis, marine cultural resources, marine anthropology, spatial planning, ocean and coastal law and policy.

Mission

The mission of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science is to deepen our collective knowledge of our planet through cutting-edge scientific research on the oceans, atmosphere, geology, biota, and the human dimension, while training the next generation of scientists. We transfer the knowledge gained to our students, the national and international scientific community, and to policymakers and the public.

The educational mission of the BA degree in Marine Affairs at the University of Miami is to graduate students with the ability and desire to integrate knowledge of marine affairs into their future careers.

Complete and submit the Common Application. Upon submitting, you will be asked to pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee.

If you have attended a secondary school outside of the United States, you must submit your official secondary school documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.)

We require you to submit two letters of recommendation: one from a high school guidance counselor and one from a teacher.

The University of Miami is need-aware for first-year international undergraduate applicants. This means that, for a portion of international applicants, the Admission Committee will consider that student’s ability to pay tuition without the need for financial aid.
