Overview

The Mechanical Engineering - Aerospace Engineering program at University of Miami offers students a mechanical engineering degree foundation and specialized training in the aerospace discipline. Coursework focuses on aerospace fundamentals, including fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, controls, materials, propulsion, vector spaces, linear transformations and the fundamentals of probability and statistics.

The required courses will provide an introduction to the processing steps required in aerospace development, with a focus on the design, scheduling, budgeting and building of a specified project. The BSME – Aerospace Engineering Concentration program is accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The objectives of the BSME – Aerospace Engineering Concentration program is to prepare graduates who, within the first four to six years after graduation are, either:

Working as a professional or as an entrepreneur in an area closely related to mechanical engineering, aerospace, or

Exhibit lifelong learning by pursuing or having completed a graduate or professional degree and/or demonstrated professional development

Complete and submit the Common Application. Upon submitting, you will be asked to pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee.

If you have attended a secondary school outside of the United States, you must submit your official secondary school documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.)

We require you to submit two letters of recommendation: one from a high school guidance counselor and one from a teacher.
