Students in this program:

Receive mentor-style training from experienced Actors' Equity Association (AEA) Stage Mangers.

Low student to teacher ratio.

Gain practical “hands on” experience stage managing productions at the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre as well as in the smaller studio theatre.

Participate in observations of professional stage managers working behind the scenes of Broadway, Off-Broadway and Touring productions in addition to dance and opera companies.

Summer internship at a professional regional theatres.

The goal of the B.F.A. Stage Management Program at University of Miami is to provide students the necessary training and practical experience necessary to become successful theatre artist. In addition to course in stage management, the curriulum also includes classes in design, directing and theatre management. There is room in the course schedule to select electives that will help each individual students develop his or her own unique talents and interests.

Complete and submit the Common Application. Upon submitting, you will be asked to pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee.

If you have attended a secondary school outside of the United States, you must submit your official secondary school documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.)

We require you to submit two letters of recommendation: one from a high school guidance counselor and one from a teacher.
