History
The University of West London draws on a heritage of over 150 years in teaching and professional education.
From the outset, the University has played, and continues to play, a significant role in the educational, cultural and economic life of its region.
Education
The University of West London's degree courses span a range of disciplines from musical theatre and nursing to accounting and graphic design. Our students will get the chance to study using state-of-the-art facilities and develop in realistic working environments, eg hospitals, recording studios and laboratories.
Research
Research at the University of West London spans a broad range of fields across the arts, STEM, health, education and more. We focus on research that has an impact on real-world problems, drawing on our close ties with businesses and industry as well as the expertise of our staff.
We have built up particular specialisms in the following seven areas. Each of our Research Centres is staffed by experts with an enviable record of publications, conferences, media and public engagement work in their chosen fields. Career
One of the things students will learn from the Careers Service is that completing a degree is just the start of building a CV that engages potential employers. A degree is important but you need to complement that with extracurricular activities and work experience.
For many students the Careers Service played a crucial role in helping them prepare for their careers. Our graduates have recently secured jobs with Microsoft, the Foreign Office, Deloitte and IBM, to name a few.

Campus life
The University of West London’s Ealing site has undergone a massive £150 million transformation to provide students with modern teaching facilities to improve their university experience.
Whether you are studying for an MSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering, a BMus in Music Production or a BA (Hons) in Hospitality Management, it is vital you have the facilities, equipment and opportunities you need to develop skills for your future career.
Alongside our highly qualified staff, our refurbished Ealing site will give you the best start to your degree education as you work towards your career ambition.
Sports facilities
We have a gym at our Ealing site, located near Freddie's Bar by the Park entrance and reception.
The gym has a section of weights, which range from 1kg to 35kg, as well as a host of cardio machines, such as:
- treadmills
- cross trainers
- rowing machines
- exercise bikes.
There are also changing and shower facilities and lockers available to put your stuff in whilst you work out.
Student clubs
University of West London Students Union (UWLSU), is here to help you make the most of your University experience.
When you enrol onto a course, you're automatically signed up to be a member of the SU. Being involved in the SU means that you can have your say on how your course is run, get the chance to meet new people by joining a sports club or society, develop your skills with a student job and try loads of new things.
