History
Situated on a beautiful parkland campus in the heart of south-west London, the University of Roehampton has a proud history stretching back 175 years through our four Colleges. Our history informs our ethos, built on community and partnership.
Education
We have ten academic departments, each undertaking world-class research and providing a supportive environment for our students. We also have a thriving Graduate School.

Our graduates work across the industry in community dance, dance therapy, teaching, arts management, research, choreography and performance. And because of the strength of our courses, graduates also have wider skills they can apply in many sectors.

Student services
The staff of the college work for the University of Roehampton to support students, create a community amongst students and staff at the college and be on hand to support in their various different ways.
Housing services
At the University of Roehampton, we can offer all new students a place in halls. Whether you prefer a high-end room, or a more affordable option, we've got something for everyone.
We have a dedicated accommodation team, who can help you find what you want on campus and provide advice and support. As you progress through your studies, they will also be there to help you find off-campus options nearby, or a room in our modern Spring Mews halls in central London.
Library services
The world-class University of Roehampton Library is staffed by friendly and dedicated staff who are here to help you. As a student, you will be able to enjoy all the benefits of our state-of-the-art resources.
The Library has high-speed Wi-Fi throughout and contactless borrowing to make checking out books as easy as possible. It is also home to the Walsingham Garden Room and Café.
ICT services
The University of Roehampton has excellent facilities for students who are interested in esports and gaming, whether you are focused on competitive games or just want to relax after lectures. We also offer advice and training for students interested in creating content, from live streaming to video production for YouTube and Twitch.
Medical services
Based in each of our four Colleges, our Student Wellbeing Officers are friendly, supportive staff who can help you with anything from managing your finances to dealing with personal issues.They are your first port of call for any problem you might have. This could range from financial guidance, advice and support for personal safety, including harassment and assault.

Campus life
We have a beautiful 54-acre parkland campus, with historic buildings alongside modern, cutting edge facilities, including a brand new, state-of-the-art Library. Our campus helps us provide a close-knit community feel for our students and a peaceful environment in which to study and live.
Our green campus is located in the heart of south-west London, close to Putney and Hammersmith and within easy reach of central London. Studying with us will give you the best of both worlds: the community feel of a traditional university campus, with the culture and nightlife of one of the greatest cities in the world.
Sports facilities
At Roehampton, we offer a wide range of sport and physical activity opportunities for all students. From competitive sport for more experienced students to social activities for those wanting to try something new, we have something to meet the needs of all our students.
From Badminton to Yoga, Athletics to Cheerleading and Martial Arts to Netball – there are lots of ways to get involved. Joining one of our teams or activities will help you make friends and develop skills to help in any future career.
Student clubs
The Roehampton Students' Union is the representative body for all our students and plays an active role in our community.

Leaving aside the effects COVID-19 pandemic has had on my academic year, I am grateful that my supervisor was there in my contact every step of the way. Lectures were cancelled before the process of independent study became challenging for me.
