Established in 1918, Otis College of Art and Design is a non-profit 501(c)3 institution and national leader in art and design education. The College mission is to educate a diverse community of students to become highly skilled, well-informed, and responsible professionals--empowering them to shape the world.
Education
Otis College of Art and Design offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide variety of visual and applied arts, media, and design, in addition to year-round Extension courses for all ages. We also offer a growing array of Summer programs.
Career
Career Services provides support and services to students and alumni through the stages of career exploration, personal and professional growth, and employment. We also work with local, national, and global employers and cultural institutions to cultivate opportunities for students and alumni.

Student services
Student success is not just measured by student talent and ambition, but also by the support and resources a college campus provides. Our student support services at Otis College are positioned across our campus offering a myriad of programs and services focused on student retention and success.
Housing services
The Residence Hall is primarily for first year students. The Residence Hall offers students the opportunity to live with peers and fully immerse themselves in a community of artists and designers. With multiple lounge spaces, students have the ability to engage with a diverse population and meet people they may otherwise never met.
The affiliated Park West Apartments are conveniently located across the street from campus. Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Graduate students are able to live with other Otis College students in an apartment setting.
We are incredibly excited to introduce Ascent! Ascent is a brand new construction with all single bedrooms, two miles from campus.
Library services
The Millard Sheets Library at Otis College of Art & Design is a relaxed atmosphere where creative students meet, study, browse, and find inspiration. Librarians have built a collection that supports the students and the curriculum and includes 40,000 books, 130,000 electronic books, online databases with millions of articles, and special collections that include 3,000 artists’ books.
ICT services
Information Technology supports students, faculty, and staff with effective technology resources enabling flexible and integrated learning environments, providing appropriate teaching applications, and maintaining accessible and reliable information systems advancing the college’s mission.
Medical services
The Student Health and Wellness Center provides medical and counseling services as well as health promotion programs to promote healthy living and engagement, to help students fulfill their artistic endeavors at Otis College.
Campus life
L.A. has it all—diversity, industry, and culture. It’s known as the creative capital of the 21st century. Students receive an international education in an international city full of opportunities. Some of the most influential artists and designers in the world live in L.A.
The five-acre main campus is located on L.A.’s Westside near the beach and LAX and the Graduate Studios are in the Creative Corridor in nearby Culver City.
Sports facilities
There are no athletics at Otis College, but there is a gym (L.A. Fitness) just a block away if you want to relieve some stress and get active. Otis College students have a special discounted rate for a monthly gym membership. Just show your Otis College I.D.!
