About

History

The Salisbury University story began with a state in need. In 1921, a study showed Maryland’s existing higher education infrastructure was not adequately meeting the demand for teachers in the state’s rural areas. The next year, the Maryland Legislature sought to remedy this by founding a new “normal school in one of the state’s most rural areas: the Eastern Shore.

Great university experience. Small class, where you are able to create a relationship with your peers and professors.
