Overview
At SU, it’s a straight track to your career. The Public Health program at Salisbury University is aligned with the Areas of Responsibility of a Health Education Specialist, developed by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. Upon completion of the program, you are eligible and prepared to become a certified health education specialist.
SU also prioritizes experiential learning, and opportunities for hands-on experience abound. Students complete a semester-long internship where they apply course material to a practical experience in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nonprofit organizations, corporations and government departments.
Students also have the opportunity to become a part of Eta Sigma Gamma, the only national health education honorary. Its mission is to promote the highest possible standards in education, research and service within the discipline of health education through student-led chapters in colleges and universities across the United States.
