In a 1837 letter to family back east, Ann Arbor resident Sarah C. Miles Case wrote, “A branch of the Michigan University at Ann Arbor is to be established in Flint at some future day.” In 1970, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredited what was then called Flint College. Today, some 8,600 students are enrolled at UM-Flint.
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs offers integrated research support for faculty, staff, and students. Whether it's by assisting faculty with developing funding proposals, connecting undergraduate students with hands-on research experiences, by providing opportunities for students and faculty to present their research, or by supporting investigators through the entire project lifecycle, it is our goal to foster a culture of research at UM-Flint.

The Recreation Center is open to the public through memberships, day passes, specialty fitness classes and youth camps as well as free to currently enrolled UM-Flint students with an MCard. The facility boasts features such as an indoor track, pool, spa, fitness classes, and much more to help you get, and stay, in shape!
