Founded: On December 20, 1828, by Act of the Georgia General Assembly, seven faculty members founded Augusta University's oldest college, the Medical College of Georgia.
We pride ourselves on our clinical and translational research programs, which focus on three key areas: cancer, cardiometabolic disease and neurological disease. By studying these diseases, which disproportionately affect Georgians, we can better serve our patients.
Our researchers are also developing three emerging areas of research strength: regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics, and public and preventive health.
