Graduates of the Social Work programme from the Long Island University (LIU) have strong clinical, advocacy and administrative skills that they use in community-based, governmental, and for-profit organizations across the region.

The programme partners with local community-based organizations to provide well-trained generalist practice social workers, prepared to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities through a variety of methods.

In addition to preparing students for careers in social work, the programme also prepares students who seek to pursue a graduate degree in social work and in other related fields.

Students who successfully complete the programme may be eligible for advanced standing in a graduate programme in Social Work. With Advanced Standing, students only need to complete one-year of graduate study to earn their master degree.
