The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Texas A&M University offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology. Both degrees require a total of 120 hours. 

About

The two degrees are offered by Texas A&M University to allow students to complete their non-psychology course of study in fields most relevant to their interests and/or career plans. Both degrees provide students with the necessary curriculum requirements to pursue graduate study in psychology, as well as in other professional fields, such as law and medicine.

Psychologists teach, counsel, and work in research or administration to help understand people, their capacities, traits, and behavior and to explain their needs. They do this through interviewing and observing individuals, through testing, through the study of personal histories, and through controlled experiments. Psychologists normally hold doctorates (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in Psychology but they are not medical doctors, and cannot prescribe medication.
