Overview

The Anthropology Program at Texas A&M University major may select a minor field of study by completing 15-18 hours of courses in another department or program with a grade of “C” or higher. University Core Curriculum requirements must be satisfied with courses other than those offered in anthropology.This curriculum overview is not to replace the degree plan given in a student’s Undergraduate Catalog. Student’s are to meet the requirements for the Anthropology curriculum given in their respective catalog in order to earn a BA in Anthropology. 

The department currently has 26 full-time faculty who offer approximately 120 different courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.  Faculty are affiliated with four different subfields or “programs”: archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and nautical archaeology.

The department offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level. The department also offers a minor in Anthropology, and an interdisciplinary minor in Museum Studies.

  • ESSAYS - Essay A (Required): Describe a setting in which you have collaborated or interacted with people whose experiences and/or beliefs differ from yours. Address your initial feelings, and how those feelings were or were not changed by this experience.
  • $90 PROCESSING FEE (nonrefundable/subject to change): Checks or money orders (U.S. dollars) should be made payable to Texas A&M University. 
  • OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT: Submit an official high school or senior secondary transcript according to the education system of your country (generally the last three to four years).
