The Spanish language courses at University of Nevada, Las Vegas , help students develop thorough linguistic proficiency in combination with analytical and critical skills that will allow them to function effectively in multiple interlingual, cross-cultural contexts.
The B.A. in WLC affords students the opportunity to read and study great writers, thinkers and artists in their original language: Virgil, Dante, Boccaccio, Michelangelo, Fellini, Ferrante, Rabelais, Montaigne, Voltaire, Rousseau, Camus, Beauvoir, Renoir, Godard, Truffaut, Goethe, Kant, Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Kafka, Lang, Dürer, Ernst, Klee, Cervantes, Juana Inés de la Cruz, Darío, Neruda, Allende, Buñuel, Almodóvar, del Toro, Picasso, Kahlo, Velázquez, Rivera, Dalí. All of our language majors have the opportunity to take courses in translation, or literary study, or linguistics, or cultures
Majors are given the flexibility to follow their specific interests in this degree that leads to careers in international affairs, academics, law, diplomacy, medicine, science, hospitality, communications, travel, fashion, business, politics, journalism and the arts.
