The Art program offered by University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point's graduates find employment in commercial enterprises, private firms, government agencies or work in educational institutions. Some choose the entrepreneurial path, becoming self-employed professional artists, or decide to go on to graduate school.

Exhibition Opportunities / CompetitionsStudents are invited to submit work to the annual Juried Student Exhibition where submissions at all levels have the chance to win awards. Each year we also hold a Scholarship Competition with multiple awards given to excellence in each discipline, in leadership and service. Students get calls to enter local, regional, national and international art shows.
Public Art / Community WorkThe Carlsten Gallery Student Advisory Committee (CGSAC) holds an annual competition for students to create Public Artwork. Students gain experience with proposal writing, presentations, and working with a faculty mentor.
Visiting Artists / WorkshopsEvery year we host different visiting artists who hold workshops and give lectures on campus. Student groups sponsor events and individuals also travel to attend talks or weekend workshops.

Complete the Universities of Wisconsin Application or the Common Application. If you and your high school have opted into UW-Stevens Point’s Direct Admissions, all we need from you is a completed Direct Admit Wisconsin Form indicating UW-Stevens Point as your choice to begin your Pointer journey for fall.
Ask your high school to send us an official copy of your high school transcript. We will accept self-reported/unofficial transcripts for admission purposes.
They do not require an essay or letters of recommendation. If your academic record is not strong or you have extenuating circumstances you would like us to consider, you are welcome to submit an essay and/or letters of recommendation for our review.
