The University of West Florida Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology is designed for students who want to chart their own path. Students are able to choose from a variety of courses within science, technology, engineering, mathematics or business to create an interdisciplinary plan of study that meets their educational needs.

The engineering technology program emphasizes hands-on learning, systems thinking and problem-solving across a range of engineering-related areas. With a strong foundation in technical communication, design processes and materials science, students graduate ready to contribute to modern engineering teams from day one.

What You Will Learn

Through a blend of applied coursework and project-based learning, engineering technology students gain the skills and experience needed to thrive in a wide range of technical and engineering-related fields.

Students learn to represent and model engineering systems while also developing a solid foundation in technical computing and logical problem-solving. The curriculum emphasizes cost-efficiency, performance analysis and communication skills to support informed decision-making, alongside the study of materials and their behavior in real-world applications.

In addition to technical competencies, the program fosters ethical reasoning and professional integrity, qualities vital for navigating the responsibilities and challenges in today's engineering environments. Applicants must submit transcripts evidencing all prior academic coursework including post-secondary education.
Applicants must submit a non-refundable application fee payable in U.S. dollars.
Applicants must complete, sign, and submit a Mandatory Immunization Health History Form through the MyUWF Immunization Status app to include the following information. This requirement is in accordance with University Policy AC-28, Health Requirements for International Applicants, as it may be amended.
Medical History Form completed by the student,
Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) immunization or qualified exemption, and
Proof of immunization for meningitis and hepatitis B, or a signed waiver indicating the applicant’s informed decision not to be vaccinated.
