Overview
When Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, the Delta State University faculty and students were on the front lines, directing Mississippi’s geospatial response and producing over 7,000 linear feet of maps to support the crisis.
That experience shaped the faculty's core philosophy: combining technical mastery with a liberal arts foundation to develop skilled professionals who use imagery, mapping, and geospatial data to respond effectively to global challenges.
This Geospatial Analysis and Intelligence program is delivered in a fully-online, asynchronous format, intentionally designed to meet your needs as a traditional or non-traditional student (working professional and active-duty military personnel) who require the flexibility to balance their studies with demanding careers.
Why Choose Geospatial Analysis and Intelligence Online at DSU?
The B.A.S. in Geospatial Analysis and Intelligence program at Delta State University combines academic rigor, professional relevance, and personalized support to prepare graduates for elite careers in geospatial intelligence.
Courses are led by active leaders from top-tier organizations, including senior professionals from the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Army, and Esri, ensuring that your education is fully aligned with the real-world demands of the geospatial intelligence tradecraft.
Complementing this, the GIT Center at Delta State extends its mission beyond the classroom, engaging in research, thought leadership, service, and training that impact the broader geospatial community, including collaborations with the United Nations and research into GEOINT’s role in disaster response.
The program’s unique six-domain curriculum, developed in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps and mapped to the USGIF GEOINT Essential Body of Knowledge—the gold standard for the profession—provides students with a comprehensive and versatile skill set.
Additionally, every student in our program is supported by a dedicated, full-time academic advisor who serves as a single point of contact for all aspects of the academic journey, from admissions and financial aid to course registration and career counseling.
