Fitchburg State’s 4+1 History option is designed for motivated students who want to combine their BA or BS in History with a Master of Arts in History.

Students begin graduate-level coursework in the fall of their junior year, taking graduate courses instead of undergraduate courses.

The number of required credits remain the same and students move seamlessly into the MA program upon completion of the bachelor’s degree.

Students remain within the same department and working closely with the history faculty throughout their time.
