SEP students will:

develop a deep understanding of the evolution and dynamics of the solid Earth and other planetary systems, including the geologic evolution of the planet along with life, as well as dynamic climatic interactions between atmosphere, biology, and oceans.
become adept at understanding ground-based and remote-sensing geophysical data and apply this information to computational tools for understanding planetary systems.

Some of these careers or graduate programs include geophysical and geological analysts, environmental and exploration geophysics, geologic hazards monitoring and assessment, land surface studies, geophysics and planetary science. Students that complete this degree will additionally be suited for outside opportunities in statistical and ‘big data’ analysis, general science education and outreach. Students interested in research opportunities can work with our world-class SEP faculty and gain experience needed to be successful within graduate programs around the world.

High School Transcripts should be sent electronically via Common App or through another service, such as Parchment, SCOIR, SLATE, Naviance, Maia Learning, or GA Futures.

College transcripts are required for application review if your high school transcript does not list dual enrollment classes and/or grades. If you are an enrolling student, a final official college transcript is required for all coursework for which you are seeking credit.

You may self-report standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, AP, etc) on your Common Application or Dual Enrollment application. After application submission, you can also self-report scores through your Admission Portal.

Official SAT/ACT scores are required of students who enroll at Georgia Tech. AP, IB, A-level or similar scores are required for students seeking college credit. Official test scores must be sent directly to Georgia Tech via the testing agency (SAT code 5248, ACT code 0818).
