The programme

The PGA Golf Management programme offered by Sam Houston State University is one of only nineteen golf management programmes in the country accredited by the PGA of America — and the only one in Texas.

The PGA Golf Management programme is a 4.5-year structured college curriculum that includes comprehensive classroom studies, internship opportunities, and player development, providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the fast-paced golf industry.

Students will earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a specialization in PGA Golf Management and will become directly elected by the PGA of America as a Class "A" Member after graduation.

Students seeking admission to the PGA Golf Management programme at SHSU must satisfy university entrance requirements and submit a separate application to the PGA Golf Management programme that includes documentation of a golf handicap of 12 or less.
Applications to the PGA Golf Management programme should be made as early in the academic year as possible for consideration for the fall semester; class sizes are limited.
