Overview

You’ll gain a solid foundation in kinesiology — the study of human movement — by exploring the scientific principles that govern human movement, health and physical activity and analyzing how the body responds and adapts to physical stress. The degree program also prepares you for graduate study in rehabilitation-focused fields such as physical or occupational therapy, athletic training and more.

The Kinesiology - Applied Exercise Physiology program’s curriculum covers a variety of pathophysiologies (changes in the body that occur due to disease or injury) and their accompanying exercise recommendations, and you will have the opportunity to engage in an internship to gain real-world experience. Plus, this degree program from Appalachian State University serves as excellent preparation for the Certified Exercise Physiologist exam from the American College of Sports Medicine.
