Overview

The first of these objectives is to prepare students for lifelong professional careers in commerce, finance and industry, as well as for management careers in the public and not-for-profit sectors. A second objective is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to obtain professional, entry level positions in one functional area of the business enterprise, or in some particular field of business.

Tracks

The Management Track of the Business Administration - Management and Human Resources degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills intends to prepare students for general management positions in either public or private organizations. Course work focuses on key business needs such managing personnel, behavioral motivations, international strategies, and conflict resolution. Students are encouraged to do internships where they can apply their management skills.

The Human Resources Track intends to prepare students for careers as managers in Human Resources, Training, Labor Relations and other specialties. Every semester, HR students participate in a mock interview service learning activity in coordination with The Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC). Graduates in Management will find themselves qualified for an extensive array of entry-level management positions in aerospace, entertainment, manufacturing, small business and retailing.

First-Time Applicants

Students applying to a bachelor’s degree program with no previous coursework at a college or university are considered first–time, first-year (freshmen) university students. The application requirements are different for students coming from a High School in the United States or outside of the country:

Applicants from a U.S. High School

International students who have completed only coursework from the United States, or have a combination of international and U.S. coursework, must meet the minimum Admissions Requirements to be considered for admission.

Applicants from an International High School

First-time, first-year applicants must have completed the secondary education/high school in their own country or the equivalent in another country. Good academic standing with a “2.5” grade point average (on a scale of A, B, C, D, F) or better for all the courses taken, including Math/Science, at the secondary school is required.
