Overview

During the Economics and Computer Science from New York University by being able to study with faculty who are actively engaged in research, students learn not only about the fundamentals of economic theory but also about how such theory is utilized.

They have the opportunity to conduct research on their own. Honors students are required to write a research paper as an Honors Thesis under direct faculty supervision.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of programme requirements, students are expected to have acquired:

Skills in writing computer programmes and designing software systems.

An understanding of the foundational algorithms and data structures used in computer software.

An understanding of what is going on "under the hood" of computer software in terms of the underlying computer architecture and operating systems.

Advanced knowledge of some specific areas of computer science and its applications.

Substantial knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics in both theory and application.

The ability to analyze stylized problems using an economic framework and to extend these skills to the analysis of real-world applications.

Career Options

Students majoring in Economics have many options open to them after graduation. The major prepares them for graduate school in Economics, business management, or public administration.

Pre-professional students will find that an Economics major not only fosters the discipline medical or law school demands, but provides a solid foundation for these and other careers.

A Self Reported Academic Record (SRAR). All applicants will be invited to complete this after submitting their application.

English language testing if you have not completed at least 3 years of study where English is the sole language of instruction at the time of application submission and English is not your first language.
