Overview

The Early Childhood PreKindergarten - Grade 3 and Special Education EC-12 program offered by University of Houston Clear Lake can change a child’s developmental trajectory and result in later success in school, work, and the community. When children who have developmental disabilities - or are at risk for them - receive early intervention, they show positive changes in health, language and communication, cognitive development, and social and emotional development.

You will have the skills to help all students, regardless of their academic challenges, to achieve a higher level of success. This program focuses on child development; research-based instructional and assessment practices in early childhood education; and the skills to assess, monitor and report the progress of children with and without disabilities. It prepares students to collaborate effectively with family members of young children to support the growth and development of those children.
