The Department of Anthropology offers a dual bachelor of arts with a major in anthropology and master of arts in the field of anthropology degree program. Full-time students are generally able to complete both degrees within five years.

Students in the Dual Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Anthropology and Master of Arts in the Field of Anthropology program at George Washington University will learn about human origins and anatomy; approaches to gender, social class and race; and examine material culture and linguistic variation. They complete core classes and electives from across the departmental focus areas, in addition to fieldwork and lab research options.

The program program also provides a grounding in the foundational concepts of the discipline: biological anthropology, sociocultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology and archaeology. Graduates learn to synthesize diverse data about human beings, an increasingly valued skill in a variety of professions and academic settings.
