Overview

The B.M. Instrumental Performance degree is offered for students who desire a strong liberal arts backgroundwith a major in music. Approximately one third of the four year B.M. program is in music, and numerous elective hours outside the department permit study in other academic areas.

The department also offers Music minors at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in one of three areas: music performance,theory, or composition. These minors are designed for students who have an avocational interest in music or they may assist in development of competencies required for another course of study.

Mission

The Music Division has been a member of the National Association of Schools of Music since 1933. The Division offers undergraduate degrees in performance, music education and theory/composition, as well as graduate degrees in performance and music education.
