Course overview
During the Communication - Journalism program at University of Dayton students will practice and develop the necessary skills to perform at a high professional standard. You will consider both the tradition and the reality of an unfettered press, which is the essence of the First Amendment, as you develop a firm grasp of legal and ethical expectations of the profession. Through class assignments, work on the Flyer News and internships, you will begin to gain experience in the working practices of professional journalists.
The study of journalism at the University of Dayton prepares you for reporting, editing, management and publishing positions across a variety of media platforms. Many of our students go on to careers as reporters, editors, newscasters, copy writers, script writers, technical writers and a growing variety of online journalism positions.

- Transcripts of all previously attended secondary schools, including dates of attendance, all subjects studied, grades earned and marks achieved on examinations (Transcripts not issued in English should be accompanied by a certified English translation)

- F-1 and J-1 students must provide a letter of financial support and a bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover the first year of study.
