At Hollins University, Dance majors learn to think of dance as a dynamic form, full of possibilities for growth and innovation. Members of the dance community are encouraged to discover, refine, and celebrate who they are as artists.

Dance major at Hollins University offers outstanding technique classes and an eclectic visiting-artist roster. Opportunities to perform and craft are abundant.

  • Each year the Dance program at Hollins hires numerous guest artists to be in residence during the year, assisting in teaching dance courses.
  • The Hollins Dance department creates an environment of learning where dance is a part of academic life and is both physically and intellectually challenging.

  • Students prepare to reach beyond assumed limits of understanding about dance through course work and ongoing exposure to professionals and scholars in the field of modern and contemporary dance around the globe, combined with opportunities both on and off campus.
