Overview
The Human Services - Disability Studies program at Walden University can help students gain a deeper understanding of the nature of disabilities, positive intervention strategies, disability law and policy, advocacy, and how to support individuals and families of those who have a disability.
The Disability Studies concentration helps students develop the skills to work with children and adults with disabilities in a variety of settings. The program academically prepares students to seek National Association of Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (QIDP) certification.
Career
A BS in Human Services from Walden can prepare you for a number of nontherapeutic direct service or entry-level leadership roles in government agencies, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and foundations, in roles such as:
