Overview
Businesses depend more and more on expert data analysis to inform strategic decisions. Analysists build and interpret large datasets to identify complex patterns and develop business strategies.
What is Data Management & Analysis?
- The internet is not only a terrific resource for everyday use, but a catalyst for gathering tremendous amounts of data. With the digital world today, companies have access to more data than ever before.
- Data management is the practice of collecting, organizing, protecting, and storing an organization’s data so it can be analyzed for business decisions.
- The terms business intelligence and data analytics are frequently used interchangeably to refer to business processes that are meant to extract information from operational data, but there are differences. The business intelligence orientation is rear-view driven; it is used to explain why something happened in the past. The data analytics orientation is future driven; it is used to explain why something is happening in the present and what that will mean if trends continue.
- Organizations gather tremendous amounts of data. All that information can indicate patterns of behavior, and businesses are excited to use those insights to point the way forward.
