Overview

Students of the Hotel and Resort Management degree at Utah Tech University will have the opportunity for practical experience in the hospitality field through earning various work and COOP credits with placements with our partners in local hotel and resort locations as they proceed through the program. Students will select one of two areas of emphasis: Tourism and Hospitality or Event Planning and Management. Graduates of this program will be highly qualified for middle management positions with upward mobility in the hospitality industry.

Program Learning Outcomes

At the successful conclusion of this program, students will be able to:

Integrate the fundamental principles of leadership to model the behavior of effective and ethical leaders in the hospitality industry.
Apply knowledge of best practices to further sustainability in the hospitality industry relative to economic, environmental, and cultural/social issues.
Create favorable guest experiences by using professional service management strategies in a hospitality business environment.
Analyze and apply current and relevant technologies in a manner designed to enhance organizational performance in a hospitality business environment.
Formulate clear and logical decisions by organizing, analyzing, and interpreting information and developing rational solutions in a hospitality business environment.
