You'll be ready to educate students in the 21st century, through a program that:

Provides the content knowledge in life, physical, and earth and space sciences necessary to become effective K-12 science teachers.
Provides training and practice in designing and implementing effective, engaging, and inquiry-based science lessons.
Prepare student to provide a safe laboratory environment in the classroom, including care and use of animals and plants and appropriate use and storage of chemicals.
The Office of Educator Preparation Programs (OEPP) supports teacher candidates throughout their time at Central Michigan University.

Completion of the Bachelor of Science in Education Integrated Science For Secondary Education degree with a major in Integrated Science For Secondary Education will qualify you for recommendation to the Michigan State Board of Education for a Secondary Standard Certificate. Certification in integrated science qualifies you to teach any science course in grades 6-12.

We take several things into consideration when evaluating applications for admission, including GPA, test scores (optional) and academic improvement over time.

As part of the online application, you’ll need to pay a $40 application fee. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, speak to your high school guidance counselor to see whether you qualify for a fee waiver.

You may submit an unofficial transcript with your application, or ask your school counselor to submit your official transcript. We can provide an admission decision and merit scholarship with either one. Keep us updated with new transcripts at the end of each semester. It may mean an upgrade in your scholarship.

You don’t have to submit a test score in order to be admitted and earn a merit award.
