The Allen & Nancy Vander Laan Future Educator Endowed Scholarship was established in 2020 by Allen '72 and Nancy Vander Laan '73. 

Benefits

Renewable award for a full-time junior or senior enrolled in the College of Education and Human Services seeking a degree in Teacher Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Secondary Education.

Eligibility

  • Applicant will demonstrate a history of past philanthropy, volunteerism, or giving back to his/her community.
  • The applicant will submit a written statement regarding their past experiences that demonstrate their involvement in such activities.
  • The recipient will have a cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA.

     

  • The recipient will demonstrate financial need

Such roles may include (but are not limited to):

  • Participation in extracurricular or after-school programs; or 
  • Involvement in a community center or church; or 
  • Involvement in a non-profit, community-based organization.
