The Theatre Arts-Performance Major is offered by San Diego State University. Our Theatre Arts programs prepare students for excellence in every aspect of theatre! Our undergraduate and graduate programs are structured to involve students in all aspects of theatre, from acting and musical theatre, to design for sets, costumes, lighting and sound, dramaturgy, stage management, and cutting-edge advances in theatre technology.

Our Theatre Arts programs prepare students for excellence in every aspect of theatre! Our undergraduate and graduate programs are structured to involve students in all aspects of theatre, from acting and musical theatre, to design for sets, costumes, lighting and sound, dramaturgy, stage management, and cutting-edge advances in theatre technology. Following our 2003 merger with Television and Film, the faculty and staff have actively and enthusiastically developed interdisciplinary collaboration among students in both programs. Recognizing that the traditional boundaries between theatre, television, and film are becoming increasingly blurred, we believe it is our responsibility to prepare students to succeed in all aspects of the entertainment industry. We create an atmosphere in which students can actively collaborate with their peers in the School of Theatre, Television, and Film both in the classroom and on practical production projects.
