Key Features

The Sport Management program at Marietta College prepares students — both athletes and non-athletes alike — for careers in sports marketing, sports sales, event management, facility management, coaching, licensing and branding, and the emerging field of game presentation and fan engagement at all levels of sport — including high school, collegiate and professional sports.

In every course, students complete industry-related projects, whether that's participating in a mock trial based on an actual sports case that was litigated in the courts to planning and implementing Community Baseball Day and Community Softball Day, a Marietta College tradition since 1999. Our students also begin to build their own professional network by completing a mentor assignment with someone in the sports industry.

Our students have interned with the Dallas Cowboys, Columbus Blue Jackets, Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Flyers, Oakland Athletics, and DC United, to name a few. Graduates work in a variety of positions within the sports industry or are continuing their education in graduate programs in sport management or professional programs in business and law. Marietta students have also volunteered at the Boca Raton and Orange bowls in Florida during winter break.
