The Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology Ergometer Teaching Labs give you access to the tools and equipment you’ll need to conduct meaningful research, including:

The program also provides research opportunities through various summer research programs including the Swenson Summer Research Fellowship program, ALLIES in STEM and the Aperture program.

You can also participate in directed research with a faculty member or independent study research in an area of interest to you.

Careers and opportunities

Many exercise science careers require additional education, certification, or licensure beyond an undergraduate degree.

Upon graduation, you will be prepared to enter additional educational programs in medicine, physical therapy, athletic training/sports medicine, exercise physiology, biomechanics, fitness management, nutrition, teaching physical education, and other health- and movement-related fields.

High school GPA in a college-prep curriculum, standardized test scores, a personal recommendation, and a personal statement presenting your ability to effectively form and articulate thoughts in writing.

Recommended High School Coursework

English: 4 years

Math: 3 years (including Algebra II), 4 years preferred

Foreign Language: at least 2 years of the same language

Social Studies: 2 years

Lab Science: 2 years required, 3 years highly recommended

Conversational and academic proficiency of English is an integral part of studying at Cal Lutheran. International students are required to provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:

Minimum Duolingo English Test score of 110
