Overview

Theatre Arts students from East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) have the opportunity to perform a wide variety of theatrical genres in various venues and/or work as designers, technicians, and in theatre management.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates with a major in theatre arts on the BA degree will demonstrate an understanding of theatre history.

Graduates with a major in theatre arts on the BA degree will demonstrate an understanding of performance practice and theory through practical experience in both acting and directing.

Graduates with a major in theatre arts on the BA degree will demonstrate knowledge of and skills in the design and technical aspects of theatre production.

Graduates with a major in theatre arts on the BA degree will be able to articulate their Christian worldview in light of current theatre practice as well as historical relationships between the church and theatre arts.

General requirements

The admissions process starts by submitting an Application for Admission and Financial Aid. A US$50 application fee is required for all international applications for admission, and it can be paid online.

High School or College TranscriptsOfficial copies of transcripts must be submitted from the high school or college(s) you attended prior to applying to ETBU. If the transcripts are not in English, they must be accompanied by a written translation and explanation of the grading system. College credit earned outside of the US, must be evaluated by an outside agency to be considered for transfer credit.
