Professionals working in the field of public health focus their attention on prevention, promotion, and protection of populations from poor health outcomes and emerging public health threats. Graduates of the Public Health degree from Brigham Young University Idaho will be prepared to conduct population based health work in healthcare systems, government agencies, non-profit organizations and other health related industries.

BYU-Idaho currently operates with a test-optional policy for ACT and SAT in the admissions process. This practice will continue through the application for Winter 2024 at minimum. Students are still encouraged to test and submit scores, as BYU-Idaho uses these scores for placement in freshman-level English and Math courses.
