Mechanical engineers combine creativity and ingenuity to bring their ideas to life. They use their technical know-how to design and build machines and the devices that power them. And they are involved throughout the product development and manufacturing process, from concept and design to installation and implementation.

Key Features

Mechanical Engineering program at Lawrence Technological University is built around a core curriculum in manufacturing, mechanical systems, and thermal science. In this program, you will learn how products are designed, manufactured, and tested, as well as the basics of mechanisms and structures, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and energy conversion. You can choose from six concentrations: alternative energy, automotive, manufacturing, nanotechnology, solid mechanics, and thermal fluids, and can further augment your preparation by pursuing minors in aeronautical engineering or energy engineering. Since many consumer products are electromechanical in nature, a mechatronics sequence is also included.
