Overview

This Education - Elementary Education degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha allows students to explore developmental issues of children, learning theory, elementary school content, and teaching methods. The student teaching experience is an all-day, all semester experience in a metropolitan area school. Student teaching is the capstone experience.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (BSED) is accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP) and approved by the Nebraska State Department of Education. To be formally accepted into the Educator Preparation program, candidates must pass the Praxis Core tests in reading (state benchmark of 156), writing (state benchmark of 163), and math (state benchmark of 150).
