Homeland Security (Online)

Overview

Starting in 2007, the Homeland Security (Online) program offered at Eastern Kentucky University is one of the first in the nation and when it expanded its offerings by instituting a multi-disciplinary undergraduate HLS Program. The EKU program differentiates itself from other programs by offering a stand-alone Bachelor of Science degree with specialization opportunities in the disciplines of disaster management, security operations/management and intelligence studies.

Students that are interested in:

• Opportunities to safeguard life and property in a variety of areas to include, but not limited to:

• Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement (move these bullets over as seen here, not directly under the “Opportunities” line)

• U.S. Intelligence Community

• U.S. Military Services

• Emergency/Disaster Management

• Corporate/Industrial Security

• Learning how to reduce risk to individuals, critical infrastructure, and assets through enhancements in physical, cyber, operational, and other protective measures designed to deter, reduce, and mitigate threats and the resulting consequences.

• Learning how to prepare for, respond to and recover from natural and man-made disasters

• Learning how to help secure borders, airports, waterways, and seaports
