Overview

The Information Technology program at University of Southern Mississippi includes coursework in local and wide-area networking, network security, network management, network design as well as application development and virtualization technologies. The information technology major is offered under the ITC designation.

The fundamentals of networks and how to design and implement them
How to establish security for networks, computers and servers
Wireless technology implementation and design
How to use virtual technology to plan, design and test systems before implementation

Our students work through Career Services and the internet to find internship opportunities. Some of the ones built by the program allow students to intern with CSpire, Stennis, DHS, Credit Unions, Hospitals and more.
