Overview

Students in Environmental Planning at Utah State University build expertise in large-scale environmental analysis and work with experts in other fields to make better land-use decisions and policy. Through lessons on environmental planning, economic development, natural resources, and environmental policy, students learn how to engage and benefit communities with landscape-level planning projects. Graduates of the program are ready for multiple levels of professional practice.

Environmental planners are development experts who focus on the sustainability and conservation of natural resources. They work closely with government agencies to determine the potential impact of development proposals, ensure they comply with state and federal guidelines, and limit pollution and other negative effects on landscapes and ecosystems.
