Overview
Students in Aviation Technology - Aviation Management at Utah State University will learn the discipline's latest technology with hands-on and research-based courses.
First- and second-year students will complete courses in aviation subjects such as aviation history, weather, flight principles, airport management, and start to take emphasis courses. During junior and senior years, students focus on deeper topics in their emphasis area, and prepare for careers with courses in airline management, aviation law, national airspace and more.
Emphases:- Unmanned Aerial Systems:
This emphasis introduces the rules, regulations and certification to become a Commercial Remote Pilot, with practical design, build and flight labs. Students will learn to fly course drones and gain experience in aerial photography, mapping and data collection/analysis.
- Aviation Operations:
This emphasis prepares students for a variety of aviation careers, including airport management, finance, Fixed Based Operator staff and working for business and corporate aviation.
