Theatre Arts Highlights

Home to one of Utah’s largest theatre venues, plays developed at Weber State University, such as “Mockingbird” by Julie Jensen, have gone on to be produced across the country and to win national awards and recognition.

Weber State hosts a play reading series with access to brand new theatre works and interviews with the playwrights.

What You’ll Learn at Weber

At the Theatre Arts-Acting and Directing program at Weber State University, you’ll develop strong foundational skills in all aspects of theatre so that you are prepared to be employed as a lifelong artist no matter what twists and turns life throws you. Students learn to be inventive, manage projects and work with limited resources. Theatre also teaches you about the human condition, how to deal with very different people and that hard work has its rewards. Alongside developing your own unique voice as an artist, you will learn collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking.

What You Can Do After Weber

Theatre arts graduates have worked on Broadway, in regional and children's theatres, on cruise ships, in theme parks and in film and television. Our design, technical and management students are employed throughout the country.
