Overview
Students that graduate with a major in Public Health from Metropolitan State University of Denver will be prepared for many entry-level public health positions, as well as providing the background knowledge required to pursue a broad range of graduate degree programs, including a master’s degree of Public Health (MPH) or a master’s degree in Health Administration (MHA).
The requirements for the public health major (BA) provides instruction in the following domains.
The curriculum addresses these domains through any combination of learning experiences throughout the requirements for the major or concentration coursework.
- The concepts and applications of basic statistics
- The history and philosophy of public health as well as its core values, concepts, and functions across the globe and in society
- The basic concepts, methods, and tools of public health data collection, use, and analysis and why evidence-based approaches are an essential part of public health practice
- The concepts of population health, and the basic processes, approaches, and interventions that identify and address the major health-related needs and concerns of populations
- The underlying science of human health and disease including opportunities for promoting and protecting health across the life course

- You must submit a bank statement or letter AND a completed financial affidavit form before you can receive an admission decision or I-20 Form.
- Official secondary (high school) documents are sent to MSU Denver directly from an official source, such as your school, ministry of education office, or examination board. Your documents must show all final results and a graduation date.
- If your academic documents are issued in a non-English language, you must submit a complete, literal, word-for-word English translation in the same format as the original academic document. Translations must be done by a professional translator or translation service.
