The curricula in Health Informatics programme from University of Pittsburgh is under constant evaluation and evolution to best prepare students to enter the field, and it is now time for the name of the program to reflect industry changes; to align with that mission, the undergraduate program in Health Information Management has shifted its name to Health Informatics.

In the classroom, faculty mentors guide you as you learn about health care data science. You will acquire skills to maintain data integrity and security to ensure providers and patients have access to accurate information.

You’ll become skilled in data analytics and technology and grow as a future health care professional.

The University offers students a clinical rotation, providing you with opportunities to interact with HI experts and other health care professionals. Upon completion of the program, you’ll be eligible to take the exam to become a Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA®).

This fast-growing field offers employment in hospitals and physician practices as well as in consulting firms, health information technology companies, government agencies and a variety of other settings.
